"Welcome to the Bates Motel"

I really love finding an awesome TV show that I fall into, connect to the characters and just want to keep watching. The latest show that sucked me in was Bates Motel on A&E.

I watch A&E all the time (I love The First 48!) and have seen previews and commercials for Bates Motel for years but for some reason or another I just never got around to watching it.

Fast forward to maybe 2 1/2 weeks ago, John (boyfriend) and I were trying to figure out what to watch one night and decided to try it out. Besides one very graphic scene, I really liked the premise and wanted to continue watching. John didn't seem as interested so I went on a Netflix-binge one the last 2 weeks and just got up to date yesterday.

Basically, the show centers around Norma (mom) and Norman (son) Bates. Norma buys a motel in a new (to them) town after her husband dies. The show is about the EXTREMELY close relationship the two of them have and the people in the town they moved to. The show is inspired by the 1960's horror film "Psycho" and how the bond with his mother helped to transform Norman into a serial killer.

As a bonus the show includes two actors from on of my favorite shows EVER, Sons of Anarchy. Ryan Hurst (left) who played Opie on SOA plays Chick Hogan on Bates Motel, and Kenny Johnson (right) who played Kozik on SOA and plays Caleb Calhoun on Bates Motel. They are both awesome of course!

Unfortunately for me, and I am assuming a ton of other people, this 5th season is the last and I think there are maybe 3 or 4 episodes left. I sure do plan to keep watching on Monday nights!!!
